Hi,

Is there any way of finding out in which software a stp file was originally created?

I am using Pro/E WF 3.0.

Thanks

You should get an information window pop up when the file is read by Pro E.

If the originator has their config set up correctly, the information window should display their name, the date of origin and the system that was used to make the model.

Open the file in a text editor. The top header lines should say what program created the file. Wildfire4 files do.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."

Thanks a lot for the info.

I tried what you suggested......Works for (at least) stp files created by solidworks and ProE.

Thanks again :D
