Dear all,
Currently I am working for a company which develops rubber to metal components. We are currently developing almost every rubber to metal part in the car (top mounts, bushings, stab bar bushes, hydro bushing, engine mounts, ...). Our customers are pushing us to analyse Road Load Data. I would like to be taught in suspension dynamics.
If you know any good course about the above topics, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
David Bayo

RLD and suspension dynamics are different things entirely. I'd ask the customer who is pushing you to make recommendations, I suspect the effective courses are run in-house (ours are).

What sort of road load data are you going to analyse? In which software? With what purpose in mind?

Here's the way several companies do it:

Thanks Greg,
In fact I am involved in two project in which at the end of the day our customer requires the same. It is to predict rubber to metal parts life.
One of our customers gives us the load in our part, so no problem with that (that cases are simple for us). In other case the customer gives us pieces the information, like road load data, measure point, link's geometry, ...
According to our customer we need to analyse dynamically the suspension in order to determine our part's load. After that it is possible to develop, by testing and statistics, a simple test (using our part only, perhaps a link in other to intrude torques in our part easily) which produce similar failure modes.

Until now this is the main service we must provide to our customer. We are currently using I-Deas 10 (internal solver), if necessary I can use an Adams external license (just to solve the problem).

Our experience in dynamic simulation is limited to the front control arm, in a McPherson suspension.

Hopefully I have clarified a little bit my situation. Please, let me know what you think about that.

You have a lazy customer, in the second case.

You will need your ADAMS license, and a model of the suspension (their responsibility, IMNVHO, unless you are a tier one).

What module of ADAMS are you using? I am only familiar with the road load process in APRE, but basically you apply the load set to the input points as defined motions and forces, and the solver then generates forces and deflections in other parts of the suspension.

I took Claude Rouelle's 3 day seminar on "Race car dynamics and data acquisition" (2.5 days on dynamics, .5 days on data acquisition). He covers ALOT of information in the 3 10 hour days. He now offers a 12 day seminar, for even more info.
