Anyone know of any good references that focus specifically on stability of steep sand slopes. Think slopes of 45 degrees to vertical (or sometimes overhanging) made of sand or cemented sand. I have one good reference paper by Sitar and Collins (Geotechnical Properties of Cemented Sands in Steep Soils) but I'm interested in others. The collins and sitar paper places the stability of these slopes primarily as a result of cementation and particle interlocking. I believe that suction effects and root reinforcement may also have some importance in places where vegetation establishes.
Or even just general experience with these slopes
