Hey Guys,

I'm trying to locate a steel column on top of an ICF wall. I've attached a detail I drew up. Do you guys see any issues with this? Is this easily doable for the contractor or is there a way to make it easily doable? One concern I have is a 5" embed plate going into a 6" wide concrete core so it would only be a half inch of concrete each side of it.

Thank you!DETAIL

Embed plates are usually embedded so they are flush with the concrete surface. I don't have an issue with this. Might want to check the anchor capcity if you have significant uplift. You could also use a post-installed plate with epoxy anchors.
