Standard flange weight

I am working on a small project to check the weight of a heatexchanger and found that the STD falange weight in the compress is not the same as the number listed in other resource like

For example: any WN flanges larger than 14" 600# weight are lighter than number listed above.

I have investigated this issue several times over the past 10+ years. There seems to be no "standard" agreement on the weight of ASME B16.5 flanges, even less information is available for B16.47 flanges. Various manufacturers have provided different information. But in the past I seemed to have found some justification for the weights.

Then there is the question "does the weight reported by COMPRESS include bolts?", I'm not certain of the answer to that one, off-hand. I used to know, but I tend to forget these details (and they may even change over time, software does progress; which makes it even more confounding for my memory).

We likely need to document this in our website Knowledgebase so that I don't have to keep reviewing this every couple of years.

Anyway, we will take another look at this issue and see what, if anything needs to be tidied up. ...and well documented!
