dear all,

i know this might be funny, but i am quite confuse in designing a footing (e.g. spread/isolated footing). Some programs only consider the soil's sub-grade modulus(SAFE) and some the only the soil bearing capacity(STAAD).

which result would be more reliable and safe? considering only the subgrade modulus? or the soil bearing capacity?
