Hi, how can I smooth the edge of a cylinder in Ansys classic? I can do that in Ansys workbench with blend operation but I could not find any command for this operation in Ansys classic.

Regards
Jalil

Hi,
there is no such thing in Classical. You will have to built the geometry with a "bottom up" approach, i.e. lines -> areas enclosing a volume -> solid.

Try making the lines/areas/volumes in CSYS,1 or any cylindrical coordinate system to suit your centre and direction.

Check also the cyl4/cyl5/cylind commands.

Thanks a lot for your replies; I have found the following method:
1 create a solid cylinder
2 delete only the volume
3 afillet
4 intersect the areas with created curved edge
5 delete not necessary area and below
6 create volume from area

regards
Jalil
