I am new to ETABS (v.8.5.1). When I constructed a whole building for lateral wind analysis, the two side shear walls seems didn't get in the lateral load-resisting calculation.I tried different wind load level, the load/capacity ratios for the shear walls remained the same. And at the same time, the vertical deformation of the shear walls are much larger than that of the columns. Is that because the shear walls are not connected to the slabs and columns? Do I need to do some special modeling for the shear wall so it can connect to the beams and floor slabs?
