Shear flow on Welds

I was wondering how you design welds for shear flow along a built up girder (i.e. the flanges are welded to the web) with a distributed loading. Say you have a simple span with a uniform distributed loading, you shear would be a linear function of the location along the beam, with the greatest being at the ends.

Simple and conservative, i would take the end reaction and use that in my shear flow equation, and use that flow to size my weld for the entire span. Is this what the standard is?

 
in that particular case

the shear flow = Q.S/2I.b

Q=max shear on that beam
S=first moment of area of the flange plate about the beam's horizontal axis
I=moment of inertia of the C.S
b=web plate's thickness
2 is for two longitudinal welds on sides od web plate
 
flyby's equation may be valid, but I prefer VQ/I.

Yes it is standard to use the max shear at the ends in teh VQ/i equation to size your weld.
