Our Client ordered ASME SB 111 UNS 44300 admiralty brass tubes, annealed temper (O61).
During inspection at tube mill, required to determine grain structure by comparison method ASTM E112. Manufacturer is using Pottasium dichromate as etchant which is incorrect as per ASTM E407.Also grain structure visible is not uniform after etching. What should be the corrective action?

Use the correct etchant as per ASTM E 407. Then check the microstructure.
