section view not correct

please someone, tell me why my section views are as if the object is glass. I shouldn't be able to see right through the object in section view. I don't want to have to xplode and then re-block. The section should show JUST what you can see from the sectionplane, not the entire object.
my object is shown as 3d hidden but, the section is see thru.
