My question involves the R-1 Form...

By the Original Code of Construction they ask for the edition/addenda in which it was built under.

Example, lets say... The vessel I'm working on was built in 1970...
How would I know what the Sec VIII current edition/addenda was at that time?

If I don't know the answer to that question do I just put the year it was built under and that would be efficient enough?

Thanks for your time

RefineryQC - Do the best homework you can to find the U1-A for the vessel which will tell you what the Code edition/addenda the vessel was built to, then you can copy that information over to the R-1.

If you aren't able to obtain the U1-A then use the nameplate information and just put the year. If you don't have a nameplate then you need to check with your jurisdiction to see if the vessel is legal to repair at all (in california...it would be dead).
