I am using v18 but need to save an assembly (and all parts) as v17 to open on a suppliers v17. Is this possible?

Hi,

no, that's not possible. The best you can do is to save
the asm as Parasolid (Version 16/17) should be OK.

There are NO parametric solid model based 3D CAD systems that have the ability to save as a native file format to an older version.

I know, but it could have been done otherwise, at least for
V(active) - 1 . But what isn't designed from start on can't
seldom be implemented later on ...

looslib,

but at least you're able with PRO/E to open in WF2 a WF3
file without the need for the neutral file. All you
have to do is to install the 'readnewwermodels.dll' and
adjust/insert some parameters within the config.pro. There
might be, however, some problems with certain files/constructions

Even though we can see the features, they are not paramtrically editable in WF2. From a pure modeling standpoint it isn't much better than a STEP or IGES file.
