Rubble Foundation to Sill Plate Connection

Rehab to a house with a rubble foundation. Old sill plate sat on wall. To meet new requirements, must anchor sill plate to rubble foundation wall. Any ideas? Thanks

Not exactly sure what you mean by "rubble". If it is just stacked stone - just about any anchor will not be worth a darn unless you take it all the way to the ground..

It is stone with a minimal amount of mortar. Basically a dry stack. I figured that was the case. My thoughts were to attach a flat bar down about four feet and attach horizontally. Weight of stone would be resistance. Would have to drill into a large stone.

You can drill, let's say, 1 1/2" boreholes down 8 feet, fill them with cement cartridges and install 5/8" rebar threaded in one end, then you lock off this bolt with a torque wrench against a flat bar like the one you are thinking of employing. A 25 lb rotary hammer will do the job. Regards.

You are not in Kansas anymore!!! Something along crcivil ideas makes sense. You could use heli-coils or some type of earth anchor.

And good luck drilling into stacked stone - unless it is lousy limestone
