remove objects from reference sets

How do you remove selected objects from a reference set. I'm sure it is simple, but I can't seem to find it.
It seems my "Model("PART")" ref. set has 79 items in it. I only want the model and I can't deselect the other objects.

I am sure that J. Baker will correct me if I am wrong but I was told by my instructor that the MODEL reference set was a special reference set that would be automatically created even if you deleted it. Under customer defaults you can set what gets put into this reference set automatically. He recommended that we create our own reference set in which we could control exactly what was and what was not in it. In our seed part we created a reference set named "DESIGN".

If you want to remove all items from the reference set, then select the "Deselect All" button from the selection tool bar . Now you can select the items that you want in the reference set.

Yes, under normal conditions, using NX out-of-the-box a 'Model' Reference Set will automatically be created in any part file which contains at least one Solid Body and/or Sheet Body. And as alluded to, this behavior can be modified by changing the Customer Default settings.

To deselect items from the reference set, go to Format -> reference sets and select the reference set of interest. Any objects that are in the reference set and are currently visible on screen will be highlighted. Shift-click (deselect) any items you no longer want in the reference set then 'close' the reference set dialog.

Those objects that are not visible on screen, but are included in the reference set can be difficult to track down. There is a journal that will make sure all the objects in the reference set are visible on screen when you run it. It is similar to using the 'show parents' command in the part navigator; no matter if the objects are hidden or on an invisible layer, they will be shown.

First of all make sure you go to show and hide and show everything. Then go to Tools reference sets. Select the Model reference set. You will see all kinds of stuff highlighted. You can hold down Shift and deselect the bodies and sheets you do not want. Like stated before there are setting that determines what is set in the Model reference sets.

However, there is only so much that this setting can do. If you are working in the assembly and make a component the work part, any geometry you create will get added to the current reference set. This is the most logical place to put it, but you may not want to keep it there forever. If you do any 'design in context' work, you'll probably want to edit the contents of the reference set at some time...

Thanks everyone. This was a model that someone else did. It was the deselect button I was looking for. I knew there was a way to do it, but could not find it.
