Hi All,

I have an TL assembly which uses a sub-assembly. I want to move all the components in the sub-assembly up to the top-level so that I can remove the sub-assembly level. Currently all the constraints between the components are at the sub-assembly level and when I try to move the components the constraints all stay at the sub-assembly level and fail.

Is there a way to move the components and their constraints up to a higher level?

In NX I-deas you can move the constraints between levels first and then move the components subsequently. this preserves all the constraints between the components...is there anything similar in NX?

Unless something has changed in the recent versions, there is no way to move components up or down a level in an assembly without losing the constraints.

When I need to dissolve a subassembly, I place a fixed copy of the subassembly in the same position before dissolving so I can check results after everything is rejiggered.
