Hi, I am looking for CMM (coordinate measuring machine) reference book. Something related to method of inspection/setup, and application, etc. Any recommendation?

You can look up ASME B89.4.21 or you can go to either or Both have helpful information. But as a Journeyman Machinist, I can tell you that surface plate setup rules still apply in a sense. GD&T inspection is the same. however what you will also need to know is that of you are using GD&T, the CMM software packages out there do not necessarily calculate according to ISO or ASME in some situations. I always double check unique measurements or inspections that use GD&T in multiple ways until I can prove what the software is doing.
If you do not go to a training class for PC-DMIS( anyone owned by Hexagon Metrology) or Calypso (Zeiss), look up their respective user forums. They are invaluable!
