343 EXAMINATION PROCEDURES
Any examination shall be performed in accordance
with a written procedure that conforms to one of the
methods specified in para. 344, including special methods
(see para. 344.1.2). Procedures shall be written as
required in the BPV Code, Section V, Article 1, T-150.
The employer shall certify records of the examination
procedures employed, showing dates and results of procedure
qualifications, and shall maintain them and make
them available to the Inspector.
(A.3) NDE personnel collecting and analyzing UT
data shall have demonstrated their ability to perform
an acceptable examination using written procedures.
The procedures shall have been demonstrated to yield
acceptable results when applied to a calibration block
fabricated in accordance with ASME Section V, Article
5, T-542.2
shall be performed in accordance with Appendix 12
and shall be evaluated to the acceptance standards
specified in Appendix 12. The written examination
procedure shall be available to the Inspector and shall
be proven by actual demonstration to the satisfaction
of the Inspector to be capable of detecting and locating
imperfections described in this Division.
