I a new in process engineering, and I need a tips in this topic
My question is:
I need to find out the volume of cooling unit shown in the attached figure; I just wonder where I can find the equations to calculate the volume of the cooling unit (diameter of the unit).

A quick and dirty way would be to treat the vessel as a cylinder, but you will end up with a larger volume than taking into account the ends. I think the equation would be 0.25(pi)(diameter^2)(Length) which would give you cubic feet

The manufacturer should be able to provide you with the volume and weight (empty and maximum).
 
Is the question really "I am trying to design this unit operation and I need a source for the design equations?" Not just the volume?

I will explain the problem more clearly
This is a unit for cooling (condensation). The purpose is to cool 715 kg/h of vapor to 30 degree by means of direct contact with seawater in a spray tower (see-attached sketch). The seawater temperature is 12 degree. Vapor properties are given as following:
Mass flow = 715 kg/h
Steam temperature = 121 degree
Steam pressure = 1.028 bar
Molar enthalpy = -24230 kJ/Kgmole
Mass density = 0.6141 kg/m^3
The steam /vapor inlet pipe = 8’’
The unit shall not exceed the following dimensions: 1.5x1.5x2.5 m (Length x width x height)
What I looking for here is to find the diameter D, D1 and D2 (see attachment).

Why don't you give it a go yourself, show us your working out and then we'll tell you if you're right. You won't learn much form here on if you don't understand the basic principles of mass, heat, efficiency of cooling and such like.

My motto: Learn something new every day

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way
