Hello ,

I am working with a C02 PRC laser 3500 watts, MAZAK laser head and we are cutting carbon steel .500" thikcness and have melted material at the bottom. we are using 7.5" focus lens, how I can meassure focal distance? from the end nozzle to the middle of the lens or begining I am new working with laser and I dont have any manual for setup.

Thanks

My understanding is that the focal length is from the surface of the lens closest to the material to about the tip of the nozzle. That is not really what is important. Focus is very important, but not in that way.

I would put up some 6mm steel of the same type and work with that to establish a good range of focus potions.

Instead of stating the same information again. Please read
