I am looking for advice on configuring my drawing setup to correct the drawing layout which is currently in first angle projection. It appear that the default projection type is set correctly to third angle but it is still creating the drawing views in a first angle projection layout. I have more SW experience than Pro/E and I seem to be missing something that will correct the problem. Any suggestions?

The drawing option is projection_type and the value you want is third_angle (this is the default).

Note that changing this setting is NOT retroactive. It will only affect the creation of new projection views.

If you already have a detailed drawing with first angle views, you can just move them to the other side.

If you are using a template to create the views then make sure the option is changed on the template and format level or create a new template/format.

The problem seems to be that the projection_type is set correctly but the drawing is still defaulting to the wrong type, first angle. We are using a template so maybe that is the problem. Where do I change the option for the template and format level to create a new template/format? We are not sure how the projection type got changed. It was correct for a long time then we started having problems with the drawings. Are there any known issues that cause this?

I have never heard of any problems with this functionality.

Open your drawing template and change it like any other drawing. Remember, it is not retroactive so if the template views are not right you either need to move them or delete them and remake them.
