Sometimes the printed COMPRESS reports may come out of the printer in the wrong order. They have the correct Section Numbers (if selected) but the sections are not collated properly.
This problem is related to the Microsoft Windows "print spooler". The COMPRESS reports exist as individual temporary files on the computer hard drive, one file for each report. When the selected reports are printed, each file is sent to the printer, in order, with the correct section number. The Windows "print spooler" (somehow or another) determines the order in which the queued print jobs are to be printed; this may not be the order in which print jobs are shown in the print queue. If this is a network printer, print jobs for other people might even come out interspersed in the COMPRESS report!
Prevent the ordering problem by either:
(1) Select the COMPRESS option to send output to printer as a single print job (section numbers will no longer be provided, only sequential page numbering). Do this by clicking the "Options" button on the print report dialog and checking option "Spool all components into one print job" under the Troubleshooting frame.
(2) Switch off the print spooler for the printer; this is done through the Windows Control Panel, select the printer and change the properties to disable the print spooler.
