Pressure relief, need sound

Hello,

I have an application that requires a 10,000 psi pressure relief..Is there anyway,(without electronics), that when the system reaches the 10,000 psi, that there could be a very noticable sound when it kicks off?

Basically its a hydraulic press, and I would like to know by sound when i am finished instead of a gage...

I have the pressure relief with a ball and a spring that I adjusted to 10,000 psi..How can you make it so it makes a distinct sound?

Sounds like a perfect application for a "pressure switch" tied to an alarm or horn. I have never used one for 10,000 psi, but Google it and see what you get.

I appreciate the response latexman, but I am really looking for a mechanical noise without any electrical whatsoever..

Maybe this is an impossible task..I have been staying awake at night trying to figure something out here...

I know on fire water lines there is ai in-line mechanical spinner that turns when water flows and it is connected to a bell clanger. That's low pressure and high flow AND it's water. I don't recall seeing anything like what you want.

How about a relief valve with an external stem. The stem would move a lever that clanged a bell. My engineering concern is your 10,000psi value. The hydraulic fluid is going somewher when it is relieved?? What action does the valve perform. A gating function to an accumulator?

The 10,000 psi when relieved, will channel the oil back into a rubber bladder..this is a self-contained hydraulic unit..I can't have any external widgets that provide sound.

I was hoping there were a way to internally make a distinct sound..I am still clueless..

Too many system's information left out for a proper design. I don't think this forum could give you the answer. Seems like a system's engineering approach is required.
