Hi All,

Just wondering if I could get a few suggestions as to the best coating to reduce / avoid sticking for a 303 SS spool valve (can be another metal if need be).

It will be used in hot/cold water mixing with temps ranging from 45F - 70F cold side and 100F - 150F hot side if this matters.

Can anyone recommend a preferred coating to minimize scale build up while not wearing off during operation?

Thanks,

Glenn

quizzical1,

Check with General MagnaPlate for their NEDOX coating. They have other systems that might be adequate instaed of the premium NEDOX coating.

Hi Glenn,

I have come across an article that may be useful to you. Read this FAQ on which metal to use in the design and manufacture of Butterfly Valves. I know this is butterfly valves, not spool valves, but i really don't think the type of valve is important here. The article suggests to use Titanium alloys and nickel bronze.

Let me know if this was helpful! Rachel.

Thanks Rachel,

I'll check it out.

Glenn
