is it possible for me to power a 10HP three phase induction motor from a single phase (60A) domestic supply? how so?

It depends on what voltage you have available.

At 110 or similar voltages, it won't be possible since 110*60=6600 W, which is short of the cirka 7500 W needed by the motor even before you start looking at efficiency and power factor.

At 220 - 240 V, it could work. Especially if you van find a frequency inverter (VFD) of suitable size. Or a rotary converter. Starting the machine could be a problem, though.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.
