When opening files in Solidworks (I'm still using 2005), does anyone know how make the the default view, the Detailed List sorted by Name? Everytime I open a file I usually can't find it because it's not alphabetical. I then have to click on the little icon next to "new folder" and change it from List (default) to Details, then click the Name header to sort. Is this a Solidworks issue or Windows? My file names are alphanumberic and not descriptive.

Thanks for the help in advance.

It's a Window thing.
As you wrote, go to detail view, select the "names" column to sort.
There may be a way to change this in Windows, but don't know right now.
Try asking in the Tek-Tips forums.

Its a Solidworks thing, It was not programmed to "remember" the open dialogue boxes settings.....however 2007 now does.

Are the files sorted by modification time when you look at that directory in Windows Explorer? If so try fixing it there. Maybe SW defaults to whatever Windows Explorer is set to.
