Is it possible to place a flange on the internal AND external projections of a single nozzle? If so, how?

Since the internal flange is likely to be subject to zero gauge pressure if the interior of the pipe is vented to the interior of the vessel, the flange design is outside the scope of ASME Section VIII. If the pipe/flange sees differential pressure, I have used a separate design run to calculate the requirements.

Thanks for the reply!

I am trying toplace a modified heavy barrel neck flange into my compress assembly. when i run the calculations I recieve the following error notes.
Specified bolting is not sufficient for the specified pressure.
Specified bolting is not sufficient for the Operating, Hot & Corroded Weight Only.
Specified bolting is not sufficient for the Hydrotest, Cold & New Weight Only.

this vessel is designed for 5000psi and othe r than these bolts not working everything seems to work.

Mikeatch - make sure you chase the bolting down a bit and see if it doesn't actually need to be stronger. at 5 ksi the flange may be sufficiently strong for the forces required to satisfy seating etc but the bolts might not be strong enough to deliver the load.
