of Egypt.

I would be greatful if someone with a structural engineering background could answer structural questions regarding the Great Pyramid of Egypt.

(see figure 6)

My question concerns the horizontal lintels (5 of them before you get up to the apex-style header stones). What structural purpose would the 5 lintels provide?

Thanks in advance.

I would say none.

From your first link there appears to be different chambers between each "lintel"; each having it's own name. It appears as though there only purpose was to provide different chambers. ---

Can you answer with respect to vertical, lateral, angled forces that may (or may not) act upon the walls of the King's Chamber itself (or the masonry OUTSIDE the King's Chamber room).

IOW, the contention if Egytpologists is that the 5 Lintels "tie together" the two walls because of either currently existing lateral forces or future ones (earthquake).
