Hello,

I am doing a finite element analysis of a lamitated retention system. I have created a blade (roughly a 0.5mm sheet of metal) and I want to twist it along its longitunal axis with a displacment value equal to 6°. Consequently, I tried to do a non linear analysis since we have large deflections (rotation in our case. I tried several shell element type to mesh the blade, but each time the solution unconverged and the result qare really stranged.

Can you help me to find the reasons of this unconverged solution?

Thank you for your help,

Regards,

Mickaël

Only some suggestions:

-Active nlgeom, on: Includes large-deflection effects
-Increase nsubst : the number of substeps
-Change the CUTCONTROL

hope that help you!

Tha nlgeom has been activated. I'am going to try to increase more the number of substep, and change the CUTCONTROL.

Thank you for your help,

Mickaël

Do you have a coarse mesh? or a really fine one?
