Nickel coating on Aluminum?

Has any one heard of nickel 200 coating on aluminum castings? We have a customer who wants to know if Ni-Al-Bronze can be coated with Ni-200.

Ni-Al bronze is a copper alloy, not aluminum. It can be plated.

Nickel coatings can vary greatly in stress. We've had rather absurdly thin nickel coatings that cracked magnet substrates.

Ni 200 is a generic description for a nickel alloy of slightly less purity than the "normal" electroplating nickel. Use the following links for more information:

Are you sure they aren't referring to weld overlay of areas on the aluminum bronze casting? Ni 200 weld overlays can be applied to aluminum bronze alloys.
