New Machine need some wiring advice 1

Hello all.
I'm new to the forum and looking for a little advice
Management just got a new grinder in yesterday
Chevalier FSG-2060ADIII
last one we had ran off of 480v
this one requires 600v
now we have 600 coming into the building and rather than pay out for a transformer they'd like me to hardwire it into the building.
we got it delivered yesterday and has been put in place of the old grinder.
with all the power feed is close by just need to change it out from 480 to 600
any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated

Not to take food out of the mouth of a local EE, but this is in all likelihood a very simple project. There is no "advice" we can give you without seeing what you have, what you need and what your locale requires. So my advice is to hire an electrician in your area who is familiar with your local codes. Look for someone with industrial experience and check references.

In the past I have had a lot of experience doing just that.-
Running 480V equipment on 600V.
Running 600V equipment on 480V.
One plant had both 480v and 600 Volts. The equipment was split about 50/50 480V and 600V.
We never considered running a new feed. Too expensive. We always used a small pair of transformers to adjust the voltage.

Using an "Open Delta, Autotransformer Boost" circuit, you need two transformers that will safely carry 21.9 Amps on the 120 Volt windings.
21.9A x 120V = 2628 Volt-Amps Use two, 3 KVA dry type transformers.

I don't recommend an open type. There is a lot of expense in locating, purchasing and installing a suitable enclosure for an open type transformer.

Bill,
The machine needs 600V, he has 600V. This is just about running wires and breakers.

Understood, Jeff.
That is exactly the situation that I faced many times. A machine with a 480 Volt feed being changed out for a machine needing a 600 Volt feed. We had a 480 Volt combination MCC and Power distribution panel and we had a similar combination panel for 600 Volts. We never changed the feed, we always added a small pair of transformers on the back of the machine to change the voltage and used the existing feed.
However I should mention that all the machine wiring was underground and it was not easy to reroute a feed from the 480 Volt panel to the 600 Volt panel.
If you have easy overhead access for new wiring it may be cheaper to run a new cable from the 600 Volt supply.
