Need to Source FDA grade LLDPE Cling Film Resin

Hi,
I need to source an FDA grade cling film/strech wrap resin.
- or - alternatively locate a PE formulation to use.
My understanding is that LLDPE will likely be my best choice.
Additionally I have been advised that PolyisoButelene would be an additive that would 'bloom' to the surface and contribute to the 'cling' effect that I am looking for.

I would MAJORLY appreciate any direction that anyone could point me in for this project.
I have been contacting all the majors and distributors but no one seems to have a solution.
My application requires 40 mil sheet so I will also be looking into my manufacturing process choices: cast sheet, extrusion, blown down, etc.

I suggest that you contact Borealis, I have had excellent experience with them. They are the best PE & PP company I know of.

LLDPE is the normal choice.

I may be wrong, but I thought some EVA was included to increase the tack and elastic or stretchy nature.

Both LLDPE and EVA are available in food grade.

1mm is a very thick film and could more accurately be described as sheet. Film is typically 1/10th that thickness or less.

Cling wrap mis normally blown film, but 1mm thick "film might be best as so called cast which is actually extruded onto a calendaring roller and squeezed down to correct thickness as it cools on the roller surface.

I have no first hand knowledge of PolyisoButelene.

The Borealis Group web site does show a FG5199 formulation that is specifically done for strech wrap/cling film. They call out anti-oxidant, anit-fog and cling additives included. That's great! I'll contact them and ask about sampling and min order and such.

Now my next great challenge will be finding a way to process this LLDPE resin to get a 40 mil sheet... I think a cast sheet line may be my best bet...

Yea, I would agree that the cast sheet method seems best.
The thickest I've heard of for a blown upward 'film' line is 20 mils.

Another additive to give stickiness is Styroflex, a type of SBS. It's compatible with PE. At 5-10% it allows downgauging, improves recovery after stretching and improves tear strength.
