Hi,

I have small problem with arrangement. It is done in NX 8.5 as customer have that version. I made an assembly that have too much option for my taste, and all of them have to be easy controlled. Easy control with arrangements is now working but I would like to make it simple as possible so I am looking for a way to make less arrangement but to be able to combine them in assembly. Is that possible? Main issue is that I need some of arrangements to be equation driven and some to be user selected... Is there a way to do it? No matter arrangements or not... any suggestions?

IvanNX:

You might consider Product Template Studio here.

With PTS you can choose which arrangements are displayed as options for the user (out of all possible arrangements) and you can create UI to drive any expression-driven and/or equation-driven assembly changes necessary (suppression of components by expression, use of Visual Rules to add/remove/replace assemblies as needed.)

Lots of options here for creating exactly the UI you want for complex models. :-)

I love PTS and I use it a lot, but this assembly have 30 arrangements per segment (my luck is that all segments are same) and I have to add some modifications that will double that number. That is why I am looking for some kind of "better" solution that just right click>arrangements>too long list to choose from. Anything that will cut down number of options for user. Main issue is that all arrangemens, both user dependant and automatic show in list, maybe I just don't know how to make NX to know what is user arrangement and what is automatic (equation driven) one.

Glad to hear you're using PTS already, Ivan.

So you already know about the PTS control for displaying only selected arrangements, then?
