I have been trying to get a contact analysis of a shrink fit joint to work, but I have the following problem:

Theautomesh does not work well with overlapping geometry, if the overlapping is too small. In this analysis the overlapping is 0.7 mm for a diameter of 570, if I increase the overlap to 3, the meshing appears to work. I have tried to change the autogem setting but I have not been able to find the right parameter.

Does anyone out there have experience of this type of problem?

Translate the bodies so they dont overlap.Transfer togood old independent mode. Mesh the bodies. Translate the elements back so they overlap. Run in independent mode. Done.
