Hi All

Sorry to bug you all with a non-math issue but I am out of idea’s.
I upgraded to Mathcad 14 a few months ago, last week my hard driver started to give errors so I replaced it.
Everything went fine except that Mathcad doesn’t run, apparently needing the license to be transferred.
Curiously the mew management PTC seems to have pretty effectively cut off any rout to find information on how to move it on there web site.
I did get one e-mail reply from the company but in effect it said I couldn’t even access any of the help information unless I bought a service plan.

This made me start looking on line for info on how to get my Mathcad going where I found this forum, cool.

So, does anyone here know how to switch the license from my old drive? (which I thankfully didn’t toss yet).

Is PTC very very much less user friendly than the old people or is it just me?
Best,

Tom

PTC is definitely less user-friendly. However, part of the problem is the approach. You need to call them and tell them specifically that you have to transfer your license to a new computer. Their agreement with you is to maintain your licence regardless of whether you have a support contract or not.

V14 is locked to the primary ethernet port. There are FAQs on licenceing that are publicly accessible.
