Here's an excellent website that I discovered some time ago by a colleague. It's called MaterialLife. The site was designed to make it easy for everyone to explore metallurgical data of actual materials. The archive with metallurgical failures has become quite large in a short amount of time, and contains a lot of hi-res photo's of all sort of damage mechanisms, like macro's etc. Really great stuff! Currently (or anytime soon), the site's archive will be fully opened for non-paying members as well, to give access to all photo's and stories. As a paying member I can tell it has been worth every buck, which is quite simple as the subscription fee is very small for future access. Highly recommended stuff!

Thanks for the tip XL83NL.
