I am not experienced in excel. Please bear with me whilst I describe problem in my own idiosyncratic way.

I have a number of excel files which have had the add-in for properties of water and steam,
Unfortunately, the source file for this add-in, water97_v13, has had to be moved from one directory to another, and the old directory no longer exists.

Now, whenever I open an excel file which is supposed to be linked to the add-in, the connection is not there.

How can I, from the excel file, redirect the file to the new location of the add-in?

Hello,

If you know the new location, then select TOOLS, ADD-INS and press the Browse button you can then select the directory where the files are. Just follow the windows.

Hope this helps.

maybe only a drafter
but the best user at this company!

simple process...

determine where the add-in is located.

go ahead and open the xl file and select 'no' for updating links.

from the menu bar,
select 'Edit' 'Links'.

you will note the options available for updating links.

select the 'Open Source' or 'Change Source' option and then browse to the location in which the add-in is located.

Select the add-in and then proceed with your work!

good luck!
