Hello everyone, I need help calculating wind loads on a lattice structure.
It's a 40cm x 100cm tower, 5m tall. What would be the best way to calculate wind loads on this structure?
The tower has sheet metal on all sides except the top.
Sorry for my english, its not my first lenguage.

Your dimensions are metric system . If the applicable codes are Eurocodes ,
You should look
- BS EN 1993-3-2: Design of steel structures ,Part 3-2: Towers, masts and chimneys

- For wind actions : EN 1991-1-4.

ASCE 7 §29.5 Design Wind Loads - Other Structures

solid on all 4 sides - open a the top - I would think the closest approximation would be a chimney. Cf values from Figure 29.5-1 in ASCE 7-10. Don't have the 7-16 book at home so that figure number may be different.

Could also be looked at as a super narrow freestanding wall / freestanding sign w/ a B/s value of 0.2 in the wide direction and 0.08 in the short direction. Figure 29.4-1 for ASCE 7-10 and figure 29.3-1 for 7-16
