Fellow Structural Engineers - This is a call for help. For the past 13 years I have designed structures using hot rolled steel and reinforced concrete. I now find myself with a unique career opportunity working for a startup with the goal of designing modular building systems framed with light gauge steel. I'm asking for direction on industry manuals and software experienced structural engineers have used to design light steel framed structures. Our initial company focus will be on residential homes and apartments. Your shared knowledge is greatly appreciated!!

There is a lot of info out there about steel framed homes. Going back to HUD work in the early 90's. Building wall panels in a shop would be easy since you would have jigs and such. I presume that you would foam insulate them. Making R ratings is part of the issue.
