Hi,

Newbie here. I have a swept boss using the 'thin feature' and I'm trying to add a thread to the inner diameter. Now of course, I can look up a handbook and put a note in the Cosmetic thread section but that's not my question.

My question is, is there a feature similar to "THREAD" in Autodesk Inventor that automatically tells me the thread required ?

Thanks,

Arun

Thanks guys.

I am a Solidworks newbie and thought there may be a way to do it and I just didn't know how. [bigsmile]

Fcsuper, yes we should tell this to SW. How do we do that ? Do they actually listen to customers, this is strange for someone like me who's been with Autodesk Inventor for so long. [surprise]

Eltron, thanks a lot as well.

This is what separates "designers" from "modellers". You should go to a trusted source like Machinery's Handbook or an existing manufacturing spec or procedure for this information.

The monkeys that write SW know precious little about actual mechanical things. It would be foolhardy to trust them blindly.
