Is there a reliable web site that will help me cross-reference a European --or other international-- carbon steel standard with its U.S. equivalent?

In particular: Does anyone know how to cross-reference EN 10025, grade S235JR, WNr. 1.0037, into a U.S. equivalent carbon steel?

Many thanks for all your suggestions.

Thanks for your reply waskillywabbit!

I did some research on my own and found that there are two published guides that can probably answer most of my questions:
* ASM's Worldwide Guide to Equivalent Irons and Steels, 4th ed., ISBN 0-87170-635-0, $224.00; and
* ASTM's Handbook of Comparative World Steel Standards, 2nd ed., ISBN 0-8031-2088-5, $425.00.

Given the list prices, I cannot afford both... Does anyone have a recommendation?

Personally I would go with the ASTM standard, but see if they will not let you evaluate both before you buy and compare them to see which one better suits your needs. Most folks selling standards are willing to work with you.

Good luck!
