Integration of conductivity sensor in Piping

Does anyone know how to best integrate a conductivity sensor in piping. Apparently it does not make sence to install the sensor into vertical piping.
For horizontal piping I am wondering if it makes most sense to have the piping bend in order to always have the sensor moisturized, which is necessary for adequate measurement.

See Attachment:
regarding 1,2 I see the risk of not having the sensor moisturized. solution 3 seems better but I am not sure about the common way of this type of installation.

Can anyone help?
Many Thanx in advance

If you put it in a low spot like that, you run the risk of filling that trap with sediment and whatever other crud you may have in the line. If the velocity is fast, any sediment would most likely tend to sand blast the sensor as well, so avoid mounting it face into the velocity. I think it would be best to mount it like most other sensors, in the horizontal center of the pipe or on the top of the pipe, in a place you know will always flow full.

If you have to sterilize the pipe, option 3 is bad. Go for a longer probe if you have doubts about wetting.

Why not install in vertical piping with flow up, as shown in this graphic from a manufacturer?

Thank you guys! I`ll probably go for a modified solution of what dawn2 posted.

The vertical installation flowing up is good. Allow for frequent maintenance with block valves. For some applications the conductivity or pH sensors are installed on a panel or in an enclosure away from the main process stream. Another installation method is like a control valve or strainer manifold that permits service with the stream flowing.
