Dear all,

According to customer request, we need to increase our production volume of GN (1800Nm3/h) up to (2500Nm3/h)in an on-site plant. This plant was designed to work with the 1800Nm3/h flow.

How we can modify the system to adapt this new change?

We have 02 back-up tanks (2x50.000liters) and 02 vaporizers (2x1700Nm3/h). GN is supplied to customer via one piping system with metering system at the connection point.

We can change the pipe sizes. But the specification of the plant is fixed.

to much lingo, not enough info. Do you make gaseous N2 and the customer wants more? Do you vaporize LIN to make GN? is there a pressure issue, ie, they need the GN at 2 bar, but you only have 2.5 bar and all the GN is available?

GN is made via Nitrogen Generation system.
We keep LIN for backup if the system fails to ensure continuous flow. Now, the customer wants to use more gas. But the system is designed with only 1800Nm3/h flow. Pressure is same at 5bar.

sounds like the GN generator is a PSA system. Can the customer live with a little more O2? Can you add more vaporizers to the LIN system and buy more LIN. Can you add another compressor and bed to the PSA?

Dcasto,

No, the GN Generator is cryogenic system with cold box and turbine. But the outlet product is GN.

1. We are studying on adding up Vaporizers and LIN tanks as well as modifying the piping system...

2. The Generator is unable to touch due to many reason.

If we follow the item 1, it means we will have to stop the plant and olny use LIN to supply to the customer?

Regards,

Hien

I don't see why you can't mix the N2 from the plant and from the vaporizers. Heck, Let some LIN carry over and allow the sytem to deliver the GN at -40C, you'll get less pressure drop on the line.

Hi Dcasto,

The Vaporisers are connected to the main pipes by EOV (Emergency operation valve). When the system pressure down to a setting value due to power failure... This valve will open 100% to compesate for the pressure drop and then it will regulate the overall pressure and flow from the Vaporizers.

This, means that I will ulilize plant and vaporizers GN, add up some other LIN tanks to provide enough 2nd backup for plant failure. Sound right?

Regards,
