Hi.
I am testing Inventor with 30 days trial.
I can start view rotation with icon pressed.
But is there way I can do the same without icon, but with only mouse action?
TIA.

Hi, rollupswx.
Thanks for your reply.

Yes I completely agree.
If your running any 3d modeling software without a motion controller you are working in the stone age and its time to start.. I've got the little space navigator and it was the best purchase Ive ever made..

I just started at a new place (using Inventor) and my FIRST question was how to mouse-rotate. A star for F4! Is there a way to re-map F4 to the Alt or Ctrl buttons? Would that be showing my roots too much?

Or... buy an Old school Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0. You can customise the buttons easily (eg to F4) and they are very comfortable in the hand over long periods.
I was so pleased with mine, that when it broke, I bought another second hand one!

Or... buy a 3Dx Space Navigator as well. I have one for the other hand, and its brilliant.

->yehlo1972: I thought it was Alt+F4 for the rotate command...

Any mouse that has a side/thumb button can be remapped to F4. A lot cheaper than a Space Mouse (admittedly not as cool though).
