My MathCAD seems really slow. R13 on a duo-core Pentium at 2Ghz, 2GB Ram, 200Gb hard drive. I don't have any solve blocks, matrix calculations or graphs. I only reference two external text files. No recursive calculations and very little Boolean logic. A few simple If statements, otherwise just * + - / square root and square. It just seems to take too long. I always save as R12.mcd because the load and save was too slow otherwise. What can be done to speed up calculations?

Not mich. Do you have the most recent update?

My Help/About says Mathcad, version 13.1 (604040953). Is that the latest version?

Sounds about right.

I'm running a 1 GHz P4, but it's only a bit slow. You might try disabling hardware acceleration on the graphics and mouse.

Try loosening your Constraint Tolerance and Convergence Tolerance. I've found these to have a significant impact on calculation time when taking integrals.

Many would say that the latest version is 11.2a; all "newer" are still in beta. ;-)
