Good day all

I have run 2 models; the first plate with hole, the second is the same plate geometry but attached on one surface side to 2 other solid plates so the stiffness at the second higher than the first.
we need to compare the stresses at the hole for the 2 models. we use displacement control
both models loaded with the same displacement at one end (ramp load at 10 seconds, in standard Abaqus)
We got the reaction force at both models over the displacement load (Reaction force vs the displacement (at the loaded edge))
How to pick the accurate point for comparison the hole stress at the two model for the same load. at the same displacement or at the reaction force.
Attached the reaction force vs the displacement load increase for both. for a fair comparison of stresses is at the same displacement loaded both or at the same reaction force of both
Comparing at the same displacement I got plastic-strain higher at the stiffer model which it should not.
in the same reaction force (results from displacement at a different stage in both models) I got a logical result, less deformation at the stiffer model. But how to explain that, I mean why the comparison at the same reaction, not the displacement
see the attach, please
your comment, please
Thanks

What is the "load" in reality? A load or a displacement?

What other information do you want to have? For me it looks like you know what the results mean relative to each other.

Hi

The load, in reality, is load control based. I tried both but got the same problem/ result makes no sense. no difference in both cases as I am using the implicit solver.
I am looking to find the plastic strain/ max stress at the critical point/hole in the metal plates; before and after being strengthened by another component.
so after strengthening/attaching a plate of the composite to the metal face, the stress in the metal should reduce noticeably due to the increased stiffness. but it looks modeling problem in the assembly as there is no reduction apart from the metal face attached to the new component (strengthening applied on one side, yes bending comes here, but should not make the structure weaker or having stresses higher than the case without the strengthening) please let me know if you have any comment or suggestion.

Thanks

Well, if you apply a load (not displacement), then the reaction is the opposite value of the load, independent of stiffness.

But overall I don't understand the problem enough to tell specific whats wrong.
