Abaqus: transferring solution field from one instance to another between steps within same analysis.

Dear all,

I have two identical instances (identical mesh and geometry) in Abaqus. In the first analysis step, I have solved the displacement field of the first loaded part. Now, after completion of the first analsis step, I am transfering the displacement field of the that part to the new part. This works fine by writing .fil results file and readin the results file by using URDFIL subroutine. Only problem is the run time, it is taking way too long. Does someone know if there is another method? Is it possible to use the arrays within the Abaqus analysis instead of I/O?

Does it necessarily have to be in the same analysis ? If not, you could use the import technique.
