How do I keep an Indentification symbol used in a note from being associated- read below please

My question is: I used Identification symbol “delta” with a number in it to put next to a note in a drawing.
As I bring the delta up to the note the delta becomes controlled by the note meaning the note moves away from the delta and the delta ends up at the top of the note and then I move it where I want it to be placed and again they act like opposite magnets.
How do I get the note and delta to not be associated to each other, is this a hinge line thing and if it is how do I COMPLETEY shut off hinge lines.

I don't know how to turn this behavior off, but you can hold down the ALT key once the symbol is selected and it won't "snap" relative to the other text while you reposition it.

When you're creating any sort of annotation in NX, in the 'Origin' section of the creation dialog there are setting to control the 'Alignment' of the new item relative to other annotation objects. There are three Alignment options, 'Associative', 'Non-associative' and 'Off'. Now the 'Associative' and 'Off' are pretty self explanatory, but the 'Non-associative' may be a bit confusing since it appears to be doing the same thing as 'Associative', that is snapping to a position relative to some other object, but that is just to help you get it located correctly, once you create the annotation, it will NOT be associative. That is, if the item that you aligned it to moves, the newly created annotation object will NOT move.

And once you select one of these 'Alignment' options, dialog memory will remember that setting the next time you go to create another annotation object of that particular type. That is, you can have notes being created with an 'Associative' origin while symbols are set to 'Non-associative'.

Here is something that I discovered a while back that you can use for a delta symbol in a line of text:
<C1.1><Y1.5>$8<Y><C>
The <C1.1> increases the character size of the delta symbol by a factor of 1.1 as compared to the rest of the text, so you can change the "1.1" to something else if you want.
You may also want to tweak the <Y1.5> to a number other than "1.5". This is the aspect ratio of the triangle. If you change that number to simply "1" you will see what the default shape of the triangle is.
