I've been researching and I'm looking to see if there any alternative processes to RTM that yield the same type of parts, but with low-cost and high-volume capabilities. Specifically multi-layered composites with and without a honeycomb core. The parts are smaller; roughly 6" x 6" x 3/8"(thickness) with some surface curvature similar to an ail foil.
I am imagining lower semi-automatic/automatic cycles similar to injection molding. Maybe there is a high volume RTM process out there?
Maybe thermoset injection molding process with an automatic layup and trimming of fabric before mold is closed and then it's pumped with 2 part resin?
Any ideas/companies/references with this information would be great.
Thanks!
