Has anyone had any luck in finding a HMI that can operate in a 60ºC enviroment and is rated for a Class 1 Div 2 area. Cooling through a vortex cooler is not possible as there is no excess air.

Thanks in Advance

You can try any industrial grade PC for the purpose, I think. Industrial grade monitors can take 60 deg. C, and a lot of other adverse conditions (like vibration, dust, high humidity, etc.)
Look in the market for "Industrial Grade PC".

I know one manufacturer - ADVANTECH - you may find their address from the Internet.

Hi bmsg,

Class 1 Div 2 is a hazardous atmosphere environment - applying 'any' industrial PC would be reckless and dangerous, not to mention unlawful. Equipment has to be specially designed and approved for these applications: it tends to be expensive and either use energy-limited design features to ensure that it can't deliver enough energy under normal or fault conditions to cause ignition, or to be massively constructed so if an ignition does occur internally, it is dissipated harmlessly without causing ignition outside ofthe enclosure. The former is known as Intrinsically Safe equipment; the latter is flameproof (explosion-proof in the US). There are other methods, but it is a specialist field.

jraef's example is an example of I.S. equipment.
